DEFENCE SERVICE


Combined Defence Services Examination (II), 2001
Union Public Service Commission will hold the examination on August 19, 2001 for admission to Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy and Air Force Academy.

For details regarding scheme & syllabi, centres of examination, instructions for filling up application form, list of designated HPOs/POs for availability of form etc., candidates must consult Commission's Notice for Examination as published in Employment News/Rozgar Samachar dated March 17, 2001. Complete details about examination will also be available on Internet on the Commission's website at address: http://www.upsc.gov.in

The Common application form for UPSC examination alongwith an information brochure containing general instructions for filling up the form, an acknowledgement card and an envelope for sending application will be available from any one of the designated Head Post Offices/Post Officces throughout country and may be purchased against cash payment of Rupees twenty only.

Candidates must use only the form supplied with information brochure.

Conditions of Eligibility:
(i) For Indian Military Academy: Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July 1978 and not later than 1st July, 1983 only are eligible.
(ii) For Naval Academy: Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July, 1980 (2nd July, 1978 in case of Naval Wing 'C' certificate holders) and not later than 1st July, 1983 only are eligible.
(iii) For Air Force Academy: Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July, 1979 and not later than 1st July, 1983 only are eligible.
(iv) For Officers' Training Academy: Male candidates (married or unmarried) born not earlier than 2nd July, 1977 and not later than 1st July, 1983 only are eligible.
(b) Educational Qualifications:
(i) For Indian Military Academy and Officers' Training Academy: Degree of a recognised university or equivalent.
(ii) For Naval Academy: B.Sc (with Physics & Mathematics) or Bachelor of Engineering.
(iii) For Air Force Academy: B.Sc. (with Physics and/or Mathematics) or Bachelor of Engineering.
(iv) Candidates who are studying in final year Degree Course and have yet to pass final year degree examination or equivalent examination can also apply for Examination, but they will be required to submit proof of passing by the specified dates published in Commission's Notice for Examination.

(c) Physical Standards:
Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Combined Defence Services Examination (II), 2001 as per guidelines given in Appendix-IV of Commission's Notice for Examination published in Employment News/Rozgar Samachar dated 17th March, 2001.

UPMCAT - 2001 : U.P. Management & MCA Combined Admission Test
For admission to MCA and MBA.MMS.MCM/MFC/MTM/MMEM/MIBM

All India Combined Admission Test for preparation of merit list for admission (Free and payment categories) in the Full Time Management post graduate degree level courses (MBA, MMS, Etc) and MCA offered by the U.P. Technical University and other Universities, affiliated colleges and private Institutions of Uttar Pradesh, which are approved by All India Council for Technical Education and the Affiliating University will be conducted at various centres in U.P. and Other States on May 29, 2001.

MARKETING



One-year postgraduate diploma in Marketing Management from The Times School of Marketing, 10, Daryaganj, New Delhi 110002.

Eligibility: Graduate with minimum 50% marks. Those appearing for final exams in 2001 can also apply.

Selection on the basis of All-India Written test to be held on March 25, 2001, followed by GD and interview.

Admission Procedure: Send DD for Rs 600 in the name of The Times School of Marketing, payable Delhi, alongwith a self-addressed, stamped (Rs 25) envelope (10x12 cm).


MASS COMMUNICATION


Postgraduate Diploma courses in (1) Journalism, (2) Radio & television journalism and (3) Advertising and Public Relations.

Eligibility: Bachelor's degree in any discipline. Date of Birth: 1.8.1976 or later.

Admission: Through Entrance Examination to be held in third week of May 2001.

Applications: Application form for courses 1 & 2 are common. for course 3 form is different. Application form and prospectus can be obtained from Indian institute of Mass Communication, Aruna Asif Ali marg, JNU Campus, New Delhi 110067 by sending a DD of Rs 200. Request for application should be accompanied with a self-addressed stamped (Rs 10) envelope (27 x 17 cm).

National Education Test (NET) conducted by UGC for Junior Research Fellowship and Eligibility for Lectureship to be held on June 24, 2001.
