Aims &
Objectives: |
The course aims at providing basic education in
Ayurveda leading to the degree of B.A.M.S. It aims at preparing
graduates of profound scholarship in the science of Ayurveda having
basic and fundamental knowledge in different subjects of Ayurveda backed
up by extensive practical training. He should become an efficient
teacher, a research scholar and a competent Ayurvedic physician (Kayachikitsaka)
and surgeon (Shalyachikitsaka) to be able to contribute his mite in the
medical and health services of the Country. |

Eligibility
|
(a) Must
have passed higher secondary school certificate examination after 12
years of schooling with science subjects. Knowledge of Sanskrit is
essential for the admission in Gujarati medium regular course.
b) Any other equivalent course recognised by the Government and State
education Board. |

Must have
completed 17 years as on 31st December of year of admission to the main
course. |

Instruction: |
a) Gujarati.
b) English for Foreign Nationals. |

Admission
criteria: |
a) Admission
to 8 different U.G. affiliated Colleges is monitored centrally by Govt.
of Gujarat through a central admission committee on the basis of merit
at the qualifying examination each year in June - July.
b) Admission to Foreign National/NRI/NRI sponsored candidates is granted
by University directly only at its constituent College Gulab Kunverba
Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya Jamnagar. |
