Institution: Kasturba Medical College, Manipal/Mangalore College of Dental Surgery,Manipal/Mangalore Duration: Regardless of any extra academic qualifications (such as Post Graduate Diploma) and professional experience (such as senior house surgeoncy ) that a candidate may possess, the duration of MD and MS courses is three years (two years for those with a recognised PG diploma in the same speciality) and that of PG Diploma courses, two years. The duration of MDS is three years. Eligibility: Admissions are made under Foreign/NRI, General and MAHE categories. Pass in MBBS or BDS recognised by Medical/Dental Council of India. Completion of compulsory rotating internship on or before the commencement of classes. Registration with any state Medical/Dental Council in India. Indian Nationals to be eligible under General and MAHE categories. Candidates whose degrees are not recognised should write to Medical/Dental Council of India to obtain a temporary registration to be eligible to pursue their postgraduate course in India. Under NRI category, the candidates must be supported by either parents or brothers or sisters or spouse or spouse’s parents or spouse’s brothers or sisters, having NRI status. Fees: MD/MS/MDS - Rs 2,21,500/- for I year and Rs 2,14,500 /- for remaining years. PG Diploma - Rs 1,96,500 /- Foreign / NRI Category - USD 15,000 per year for MD/MS/MDS . USD 12,500 per year for PG Diploma USD 7,500 per year MD/MS(non clinical subjects ) Stipend: Rs. 2000 per month for first year Rs 2500 per month for second year Rs 3000 per month for third year Admissions: Admissions through merit in entrance test to be held on 19.05.2002 at Manipal and Mangalore (23.06.2002 at Manipal for Foreign/NRI Category).
