ADMISSION PROCESS

Notification on the admission procedure for BE/B Tech/B Sc(Engg)/B Arch degree programmes at Regional Engineering Colleges. (RECs) is issued by the Department of Education. Ministry of Human Resource Development Detailed notification calling for applications for entrance test/admission is issued by the respective RECs.

Admission Procedure The candidates seeking admission to one or any other Regional Engineering Colleges are required to submit only one application; the application forms are to be obtained from and submitted to the Principals of the Regional Engineering Colleges having jurisdiction over the area from which the candidates have passed the qualifying exam. The location of the School/Colleges attended by the candidate for the qualifying exam is taken as the criteria. The jurisdiction of 17 RECs is indicated below:

Academic programmes All the RECs are managed by their Board of Governors. The academic programmes are affiliated with one of the Universities. Admission details for undergraduate programmes have been shown under RECs.

Allocation 50% of the seats are reserved for the students of the State in which the college is located and the remaining 50% of seats are earmarked for candidates from other States with quota for each State based on population.
