Reservations SC 15% ST 7˝% physically handicapped 2 seats NRI 1 seat Foreign students 24 seats. Eligibility Age 16-21 yrs (16-23 yrs for SC/ST candidates) on October 1 of the year of admission. Academic qualification 2 yr Pre Univ or 12 yr Hr Sec or and equivalent exam with Eng, Phy, Chem and Maths securing 50% marks (pass marks for SC/ST candidates) in PCM. Candidates should have passed the qualifying exam in one attempt. Candidates should also be medically fit. Application Procedure Candidates who have passed the qualifying exam from the Institutions located in Assam (candidates from Assam) have to apply separately to the Director of Tech Education, Govt. of Assam as and when notified. The prescribed form can be obtained from the Chairman, Admission Committee, Regional Engineering College, Silchar on payment as prescribed. Selection Assam candidates on merit in the Joint Admission Test conduced by the Directorate of Technical Education, Govt. of Assam. (Refer State level common details under ‘Assam;). Tripura candidates on merit in Joint Entrance Examination conducted by Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Examination. Selection candidates from North-Eastern States (Arunachal pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and sikkim) is made on the basis of marks secured in the qualifying exam. Separate merit lists of these candidates are prepared State-wise. Fees Tuition fee (per annum) Rs. 1200. NRI/Foreign students Rs. 10,800. Hostels 5 boys hostels with accomodation for 850 students and 1 girls hostel with accomodation for 60 students. Residence is compulsory. Mess deposit Rs. 1,000. Lodging Rs. 1,000-1,100 pa. Scholarships Merit, Merit-cum-Means scholarships are awarded to 25% students.
