JOINT
ENTRANCE EXAMINATION (JEE) is
conducted by University College of Engineering, Burla for admission
to first year Engineering/Technology/Architecture courses at the Government
and Private Engineering Colleges in the State.
COMMON DETAILS are given below
Allocation of Seats Free Seats All seats in University/Government Engineering Colleges and 50% seats in private engineering colleges. Payment Seats 50% seats in private engineering colleges. Admission is open to Orissa State Candidates. Candidates should satisfy one of the following requirements: Permanent residents; Oriyas belonging to outlying oriya speaking tracts (must have Oriya as MIL in Hsc exam)/sons./daughters/spouse of permanent employees of State Govt./Members of All India Services (Orissa cadre)/employees of Central Govt./employees of universities in Orissa/REC/UCE Burla/IGIT, Sarong or Defence personnel posted in Orissa at the time of application. Reservations SC 8% ST 12% Children of Green Card holders 5% Women candidates 30% Diploma holders in Architecture 12.5 % (for B Arch course). Seats are reserved for Govt. of India nominees; children of defence and para-military personnel serving/retired/killed in action; Physically handicapped candidates (as per rules). Eligibility
Age Upper age limit 25 yrs (28 yrs for SC./ST candidates) as on
31st December.
Academic qualification 12 yrs HSC (Sc) exam of Council of Higher Secondary Education of Orissa or Equivalent with Eng., Phy, Chem, and Maths. Candidates appearing qualifying exam are also eligible. Candidates should be medically fit.

Application Procedure Application form and Information Brochure can be obtained from the Engineering Colleges/Chairman, Admission Sub-Committee, JEE E&M, University College of Engineering, Bural 768018 on payment of Rs. 300 or as notified. Selection On merit in JEE conducted at 24 centers in the State. The question are objective type of multiple choice in Phy, Chem and Maths. The medium of the test is English. The merit list is notified in local newspapers/colleges. Candidates are required to report for counseling to the Admission Sub-Committee on the date and time as notified; they are allotted the discipline/college in order of rank obtained by them.
