JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATION (JEE) is conducted by the University
College of Engg, Burla or as notified for admission to MBBS/BDS/BPharm/BSc
Nursing courses (including Engineering/Architecture) in the following
Colleges: MBBS M K C G Medical College, Berhampur; S C B Medical
College, Cuttack (BCS); and V S S Medical College, Burla. BPharm
College of Pharmaceutical Scs. Berhampur; Roland Institute of
Pharmaceutical Sce, Gandhinagar, Berhampur; Sri Jayadev College
of Pharmaceutical Scs. Naharkanta (Khurdha); Sreemanta Institute
of Pharmaceutical Scs, Jharpokharia (Mayurbhanj); kanak Manjari
Institute of Pharmaceutical Sce, Rourkela; Institute of Pharmaceutical
Technology, Salipur; BSc (Nursing) College of Nursing, Berhampur.
Admission is open to permanent residents of Orissa. Exceptions: Children/spouse of employees of State/Central Government/Undertaking/Universities in Orissa and Defence Personnel posted in Orissa. Reservation All India entrance 15% SC 8% ST 12% Green Card Holders 5% at medical colleges, Physically handicapped 1 seat in medical colleges. Defence & Paramilitary personnel Serving/retired/killed/Disabled-3 Seats in each Med. College and 1 Seat for BDS in SCB Medical College Cuttack. Seats are reserved for Govt of India nominees. Eligibility Age 17-25 yrs (17-28 yrs for SC/ST candidates) on December 31 of the year of admission. Academic qualification MBBS/BDS/BSc (Nursing) 12 yrs Sr Sec/Inter Sc with Eng, Phy, Chem and Biol. Only women candidates are eligible for BSc (Nursing) course. BPharm 12 yrs Sr Sec/Inter Sc with Eng, Phy, Chem and Biol and/or Maths. DPharm holders securing 50% marks are also eligible. Candidates should be medically fit. Application Procedure Application form and Information Brochure can be obtained from the Chairman, Admission Sub-Committee, JEE&M, c/o University College of Engineering Burla 768018 on payment of Rs. 300 or as notified. Completed application should reach the Chairman, Admission Sub-Committee, by the notified date. Selection On merit in JEE conducted at 24 centres in the State. The questions are objective type of multiple choice in Phy, Chem and Biol/Maths. The medium of the test is English Specimen questions are appended in the brochure. The merit list is notified in local newspapers/colleges. Candidates are called for counselling to exercise their option for admission to Free seats and payment seats in private pharmacy colleges.
