Eligibility Age Maximum 23 years as on October 1 of the year of admission (26 yrs for SC/ST candidates). Academic qualification Higher Sec (10+2) Exam of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education with Phy, Chem, Maths & Eng. or an equivalent exam. Candidates should satisfy the prescribed medical standard. Application Procedure Application for the examination should be made in the prescribed printed form, which can be obtained from the West Bengal Board of Examination for Admission to Engineering. Medical and Technological Degree Colleges, Slaughter Hall, B E College Campus, Horace 711003. Completed application along with requisite fee of Rs. 45/- (through IPO/cash) should reach the Board by the notified date. No separate application for admission is needed Prospectus can be obtained from the Regional Engineering College, Durgapur- 713209 on cash payment of Rs. 40 or through IPO accompanied by self-addressed stamped (Rs. 8) envelope of 27 x 12 cm from the date to be notified by the REC. Selection On the basis of merit in the Joint Entrance examination conducted by the West Bengal Board of Examination for candidates from West Bengal. (Also Refer State level common details under 'West Bengal'). Candidates from Andean and Nicobar Islands seeking admission to RECs are not required to appear at JEE. They should apply on plain paper direct to the Principal of the college by May/June as per prospectus of the college. Admission is made on the basis of merit at the qualifying exam. Fees Tuition fee Rs. 3000 per annum. Rs. 4040 is to be paid on admission. Hostels 5 hostels for boys to accommodate 250 students in each of them. Residence is compulsory. Room rent Rs. 180 per session and Boarding Rs. 1000 pm (approx.).
