Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology, affiliated to Bangalore University, is a Grant-in-Aid Institution of the Government of Karnataka. This Institution gets the highest receives from Government of Karnataka among all the aided colleges.

Our Trustees in a Nutshell :
The Institute is run by Panchajanya Vidya Peeta welfare Trust, established in August 1979 by Late Sri. M. H. Jayaprakash Narayan, M.L.A. The college is run by dedicated Trustees. Three of the trustees are retired Chief Engineers of Government of Karnataka. As such, they are committed to provide excellent technical education to the student community. It is the desire of the management to develop this Institute as one of the foremost centres of technical education in the country.

Achievements of Our Staff :
The staff members are actively engaged in Research and development activities. Many of the staff members have acquired their Ph.D. degrees and some are working for this highest degree in academics. In all the departments, staff members are sent to institutions of higher learning like IITs to acquire the post graduate and Ph.D. qualifications under the Quality Improvement Programme. Majority of the departments are headed by senior staff with Ph.D. qualifications. Some of these senior staff have successfully guided/guiding candidates for Ph.D/M.E. degrees. They also occupy high status in academic circles of the University like member of Academic council, member of Board of Examiners, Question paper setters and Chief Examiners in several Universities, Custodians etc. In view of the grant-in-Aid status, academic environment and facilities, the college attracts qualified teachers to join our Institution. The institution has a very enviable staff to student ratio of 1:13. It is rated very high in academic circles of the University in view of large number of experienced, highly qualified and motivated staff.

Teachers are sent to present papers on their research work in various seminars, conferences and workshops at other Institutions, both national and international. One staff member of Civil Engg. department presented a paper in the International Conference at Sweden recently. All the departments also conduct AICTE sponsored courses and seminars during every academic year. Three such programmes were conducted by the Computer Science Dept. during the last academic year.
