The college was set up with the objective of providing facilities for higher education, research & training in various areas of engineering & Technology. Since its inception, the college has been committed to the cause of technical upgradation of the state in particular and the country in general.
SEC is promoted by the Sobhasaria Jankalyam Trust, established a decade ago to promote educational and other philantrophic institutions. The name Sobhasaria originates from village Sobhasar, located close to the celebrated shrine of Lord Salasriji, west of Sikar. The trustees represent a variety of business enterprises in different parts of the country. Shri P. R. Agarwala of Rupa & Co Ltd., a leader in hosiery manufacturing in India, is the chairman. Other Directors are Shri G.P. Agarwala, Shri K.B. Agarwala, Shri Suresh Agarwal, Shri Ramesh Agarwal and Shri Mukesh Agarwal. This institution is the first major endeacour of the Trust.
The Trust's objective is to develop a nucleus campus that would impart quality education in various disciplines of Engineering to meet the increasing needs and demands of the future. SEC's thrust is on technical excellence with professionalism. Through shop-floor training, in-plant exposure, tours to successful industrial enterprises and guest lectures, debates, elocutions, floor seminars, students will receive inputs so essential for their personality development.
SEC
came into existence during the academic session 1999-2000, with the approval
of AICTE and clearance from the Government of Rajasthan. The College is
affiliated to the University of Rajasthan for the purpose of Examination
and the award of degrees.
